DescriptionThe ECOWAS Project Preparation and Development Unit (PPDU) and the ECOWAS Water Resources Management Centre (CGRE) are bringing together experts from ECOWAS Member States, the Commission and ECOWAS agencies, technical and financial partners on 31 March and 1 April 2026 in Dakar (SENEGAL) for the launch workshop of the study on new multi-purpose dams for regional integration and climate change adaptation.
The main objective of this study is to identify potential and priority sites for the construction of transboundary dams, to establish a sound technical basis for guiding future investments in regional water resources management.
