DescriptionAs part of its commitment to promoting culture as a tool for regional integration and sustainable development, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has reaffirmed its determination to promote creative industries through its participation in the 14th edition of the Abidjan Performing Arts Market (MASA), from April 11 to 18, 2026. This major event, held under the evocative theme “Performing Arts in Africa: A Tool for Economic and Social Integration,” spanned eight (8) days of cultural and creative performances. It was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister, His Excellency Robert Beugré Mambé, at the Palace of Culture.
Held every two years, MASA serves as a strategic platform for showcasing African performing arts in all their vibrancy and diversity, fostering professional exchanges, artistic excellence, and market access for the continent’s cultural actors. ECOWAS’s participation in MASA 2026 is part of its overarching vision to harness the potential of culture to strengthen regional cohesion, increase the visibility of its programs, and support the development of creative and cultural industries in West Africa.
