DescriptionThe Heads of the West African Police Information Systems (SIPAO-WAPIS) are organising a coordination meeting in Lomé, Togo, from 14 to 16 April 2026, in the presence of Her Excellency Emily GRAY, ECOWAS Resident Representative in Togo, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Security, KADJA Hodabalo, Divisional Police Commissioner.
The aim of this meeting is to review the progress made in implementing SIPAO-WAPIS at both national and regional levels, to examine the challenges associated with its implementation – particularly since its transfer to ECOWAS and to agree on ways in which Member States and the Commission can ensure ownership of and the sustainability of WAPIS.The opening ceremony was also attended by Dr AGNEKETHOM Cyriaque, Director of Peacekeeping and Regional Security at the ECOWAS Commission; Ms Laygbay Lilian Amadu, Deputy Secretary and ECOWAS Desk Officer, and Ambassador Sandra Folquet, Director of Integration and Head of the ECOWAS Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
