DescriptionAs part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations and people-centred integration agenda, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), in close collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone, conducted a District Sensitization and Stakeholder Engagement Tour from 2 to 5 February 2026, reaching schools, communities and local stakeholders across four districts to deepen public understanding of ECOWAS’ mandate and achievements.
The initiative reaffirmed ECOWAS’ commitment to peace, democratic governance, youth and women empowerment, trade facilitation and inclusive socio-economic development, while strengthening grassroots ownership of regional integration, in line with ECOWAS Vision 2050: “ECOWAS of the People – Peace and Prosperity for All.”
