DescriptionThe Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission has commenced an onboarding programme for its newly recruited staff members, from the 26th to 30th of October, 2026, at the ECOWAS Commission, Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. Organised by the Directorate of Human Resources, the onboarding exercise is designed to seamlessly integrate newly recruited staff into the commission’s mandate, organisational structure, programmes, policies administrative procedures and institutional culture. Delivering the opening address, on behalf of the president of the ECOWAS Commission H.E General Birame DIOP, the Commissioner for Internal Services Dr kalilou SYLlA, welcomed and congratulated the newly recruited staff. He further reminded them of what position The ECOWAS Commission occupies and how important it is to have a competent, ethical, innovative and results-oriented workforce. The onboarding is the ECOWAS Commission reiterating its commitment to supporting the career growth and building capacity of its staff while strengthening institutional capacity to serve the West African region.
