DescriptionThe ECOWAS delegation from the ECOWAS Commission, on behalf of the President of the Commission, Dr. Alieu Omar Touray, and the Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs, Professor Fatou Sow Sarr, in collaboration with national counterparts, traveled to Souguéta, a sub-prefecture in the Kindia Region of western Guinea 8th of April, 2026.
During the visit, the team distributed food and non-food items to beneficiaries of the 2024 ECOWAS flood response and engaged directly with them to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the humanitarian assistance provided. Each beneficiary household received a package comprising two 50kg bags of rice, two 25kg containers of cooking oil, a carton of washing soap, clothing, a mattress, household utensils, and a mat. These items are intended to improve their resilience and enhance the overall standard of living of the affected populations.
