The delegation briefed President Touray on the impact of its legal aid programme, which provides free legal representation and targeted assistance to indigent pre-trial detainees and other vulnerable inmates across Nigeria. The Foundation expressed its profound appreciation for the ECOWAS Commission's support, describing it as a significant catalyst for expanding access to justice and strengthening the protection of vulnerable communities. Ms. Fatimah Akande, Programme Director, and Ms. Hajara Umar Nataala, Programme Coordinator, reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to deepening its partnership with ECOWAS in delivering legal assistance and promoting the rehabilitation and social reintegration of indigent detainees. President Touray encouraged the organisation to sustain its efforts, noting that every life restored through justice strengthens families, reinforces public confidence in institutions and contributes to a safer, more cohesive and peaceful region. The meeting was attended by Dr. Habibu Yaya Bappah, Commissioner for Internal Services; Mr. Abdou Kolley, Director of Cabinet, Office of the President; and Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Acting Director of Humanitarian and Social Affairs, reflecting the Commission's unified commitment to promoting human dignity, expanding access to justice and advancing inclusive, people-centred development across the ECOWAS region.
