DescriptionAs part of the cooperation between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and GIABA to sustainably strengthen national and regional anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing mechanisms, the Director General of GIABA, Mr. Edwin W. HARRIS Jr., was received by H.E M. Robert Beugré MAMBÉ, Prime Minister and Head of Government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Abidjan.
This meeting brought together Mr Karim TRAORÉ, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, Mr Adama COULIBALY, Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget, General Idrissa TOURE, President of the National Financial Information Processing Unit (CENTIF), as well as technical advisers to the Prime Minister in charge of issues related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT).
Discussions focused on several technical points, including the process of removing Côte d'Ivoire from the grey list, the next plenary meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the 45th Meeting of the GIABA Technical Commission/Plenary and the 31st Meeting of the GIABA Ministerial Committee, scheduled to take place in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) and the official handover of the keys and the opening of the new office of the GIABA Information Centre (CIA) in Abidjan.
