DescriptionECOWAS, through its Gender Development Center (EGDC), organised a national training workshop on preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual harassment in Accra from 15th to 18th of September 2025.
The activity, held in partnership with Ghana's Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare, brought together representatives from ministries, civil society, security forces and the ECOWAS National Office. Participants strengthened their capacities on the judicial, medical and psychosocial care of GBV survivors, while emphasising confidentiality and victim protection.
The workshop resulted in the adoption of a national roadmap for the dissemination of tools to combat GBV and sexual harassment, as well as a call for zero tolerance of such violence in Ghana.
