DescriptionThe Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) of the Regional Electricity Access and Battery Energy Storage Technologies (BEST) project, led by ECOWAS Directorate of Energy and Mines, conducted an audit in Mauritania from April 14 to 19, 2026, to assess the project's progress and the quality of the equipments provided.
The audit focused on adherence to the project schedule, as well as evaluating the installation and quality of the battery energy storage equipments. The objective was to ensure that these equipments can supply electricity to households across the country, in accordance with the project's aim to enhance power systems stability, increase access to grid electricity and increase renewable energy integration in the West Africa Power Pool.
